Lonely Planet gambles on new online casino

Lonely Planet, the world's largest travel guidebook publisher, has announced the launch of its new online casino, LP Casino.

The move comes as a surprise to some industry observers, as Lonely Planet has no previous experience in the online gambling market.

Sources close to the company say that the decision to enter the casino market was driven by a desire to diversify its revenue streams and reduce its dependence on print sales.

LP Casino offers players a range of games including blackjack, roulette and slots. It also features a loyalty program that rewards players with bonus points for every dollar they spend.

In a statement, Lonely Planet CEO Peter Frischmann said: "We're excited to be entering the online casino market. LP Casino offers players an engaging and entertaining gaming experience, coupled with the highest levels of safety and security. We believe it will be a big hit with travellers around the world."

The launch of LP Casino comes at a time when competition in the online gambling market is heating up. Earlier this year, multinational media company Time Warner Inc announced it was acquiring 888 Holdings PLC, one of Europe's largest online casinos operators.

Lonely Planet unites with gaming giant Playtech

Lonely Planet, the world's leading travel media company, has announced a new partnership with Playtech, the world's largest online gaming company. The new alliance will see Lonely Planet develop a series of bespoke online and mobile games based on its popular tourism destinations.

The new games will be available in multiple languages across social networks, on mobile devices and desktop computers. They will also be designed for both desktop and mobile play, with high-quality graphics and an intuitive user interface.

Commenting on the new partnership, Lonely Planet CEO Peter Healy said: "We are delighted to partner with Playtech, one of the world's most innovative gaming companies. This alliance represents a natural extension of our brand and will give our customers access to some of the best travel-themed games available."

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer added: "We are very excited to partner with Lonely Planet, one of the world's most iconic brands. Our team is looking forward to creating some truly amazing games that will bring the unique appeal of Lonely Planet destinations to life for gamers around the world."

The first game in the series, which is currently under development, is set in the vibrant city of Bangkok. It will allow players to explore all the best sights and sounds that Bangkok has to offer, from its stunning temples to its lively nightlife scene.

New Lonely Planet casino a hot bet for players

Las Vegas is getting a new casino. The $4.5 billion project, called the "Lonely Planet," is billed as a "lush oasis in the middle of the desert."

The casino will be built on the old site of the Riviera. It's expected to open in 2020 and will include a hotel, restaurants, and a theater.

The project has been in the works for years, but it was put on hold after the owners of the Riviera went bankrupt. Now it's being revived by an investment group led by Derek Stevens, the owner of the D Las Vegas casino.

Stevens says the Lonely Planet casino will be different from other casinos in Las Vegas. He promises "a new level of luxury and excitement never before seen in this town."

The casino will have 2,500 slot machines and 150 table games. It will also have a high-end restaurant operated by celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.

The theater will host live entertainment, including Cirque du Soleil shows. And there will be a pool with cabanas and a gaming area called "the native village."

Some people are skeptical about the project, saying it's too late to build another casino in Las Vegas. But Stevens is confident that it will be successful. He says, "There's always room for something new."
